Our rating: 4.5 stars
Reservation required: Yes
Dress code: Dressy casual
Price:
We were there for Charleston Restaurant week and were able to enjoy two 3-course meals and a kid’s meal for under $150
Service:
Absolutely excellent. Our waitress was attentive. Also loved that she was very soft-spoken, but it made for a very pleasant experience because we were in a small room. The food came out in perfect intervals, too. We were never waiting long, but had just enough time to enjoy what we just had in front of us.
Food:
Incredible.
For dinner we had:
She Crab Soup (normally $8 for a cup)
Award winning
Barbeque Shrimp & Grits (normally $31)
Josh’s favorite so far (better than Grill 225, The Washout, and Icehouse)
Very filling
Queen’s Salad (normally $12)
Excellent. Light, flavorful, and keeps you wanting more
Braised Beef Short Rib (normally $37)
Best meal entree I’ve had in a long time
Meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender
Potatoes and green beans were a perfect combination
Kid’s chicken fettuccine (not sure how much this was maybe $14?)
Aden absolutely loved every bit of this.
For dessert we had:
Turtle cheesecake
Very good, but almost too sweet.
Atmosphere:
The atmosphere was great. This is a perfect “Charleston” style restaurant. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but you have to reserve the type of seating you want ahead of time. They have a bar you can sit at while you wait for your reservation time.
This would have been 5 star if the atmosphere was just a little more formal. For the price and the location, it wasn’t formal enough. The hostesses were very sloppy and didn’t treat their guests with the professionalism you’d expect at a place like that.
The location though, was fantastic and we highly recommend this place!
*UPDATE*
We've been back to 82 Queen on multiple occasions. We've taken friends there for brunch and have been back for dinner a few times. We've had an excellent experience every time.
