Charleston Restaurants: Stars Restaurant - Rooftop & Grill

Our rating: 4.5 stars

Reservation required: Highly recommend

Dress code: Dressy casual

Price:

  • Reasonable for the quality and quantity!

  • We ordered: just water to drink tonight, mussels, corn bread, a kid’s meal of noodles, filet mignon, mashed potatoes, beef short ribs, one dessert, and a chocolate martini all for just over $185 (tip included).

Service:

  • Excellent! Our waiter was attentive and always seemed to keep an eye on our table. He checked in with us multiple times.

  • The food came at perfect intervals.

Food:

For dinner we had:

  • Cornbread ($8)

  • Sauteed Mussels ($15)

  • The 8oz filet ($43)

  • The beef short ribs a’la nicoise ($39)

  • Kids buttered pasta ($8)

  • Truffle whipped potatoes ($12)

For dessert we had:

  • Peanut butter pie ($14)

  • Chocolate martini ($14)

Atmosphere:

The atmosphere here is classy casual. You could feel comfortable in a suit or shorts and a nice shirt. They had some Michael Bublé and Louis Armstrong style music which set an elegant tone. There is a huge central bar and tables all around inside. We didn’t go to the rooftop because it was raining, but assume that would be a really nice experience, too. I really appreciated that they had a kid’s menu available for our picky eater.
